I first picked up a paintbrush in 1979 and earned a degree in Advertising Design from the University of Maryland at College Park in 1982. Since that time I have been employed in the business side of the world of art and am currently Vice President for Marketing & Public Relations with EPI-Colorspace. I live in Montpelier, Maryland and paint in a small corner of my home office assisted by Grace, my wife and designated “creative consultant.” Painting is a simple exercise in tension elimination, and if you enjoy what I’ve created; if what you see gives you reason to smile or causes a bit of surprise, then my day is a bit brighter. Upon seeing my work, many are surprised that I use acrylics and have asked why I have not tried oil-based paints. Acrylics are my chosen medium because they don’t require the use of solvents that smell up the house nor do they ignite very easily.
